I love my boot camp week one team. It is an awesome team of very cool people. It is a team of devs. Devs could be short for devils but mine is a team of future software developers. What drives us is our zeal for tech. We all love tech and we are the next generation of tech black belts in the making.

My team is comprised of five people. We are gender balanced though a bit under balanced on the feminine side. It comprises of four very cool dudes and a “reina de tecnología” that is Spanish for tech queen. I could write a book about them but am still looking for a publisher.

I will begin with our team leader, our Learning Facilitator and commander of the regiment Aldo Okware. Where do I begin? I find him very fascinating because of his personality. This Liverpool die hard initially had me confused for while in a discussion with Ahmed when they were talking about “Jurgen Klopp”. Armed with my high school biology, I thought these developers were talking species or something close.

They were talking about Liverpool’s coach, which I learnt later considering football is my witchcraft welding step mother. Me and football will always be eternally at odds. Aldo is family solid being straight up when to cut the line between family and work. He is amazingly objective about code which I think boosts creativity.

Talking about code Aldo has eight years of experience in the Tech industry. Having spent a bit it of it working for the Hostel production team. If you enjoyed those series well Aldo made all the tech related magic happen. He has a startup called Moap. With several app under his belt I am delighted to have him hold my hand on this journey of Tech mastery.

Then comes reina de tecnología Harriet Akot. She had scared me when she talked about her Software Engineering degree, I said to myself, “this random selection system has paired me with super skilled people that I doubt I whether I will catch up with them.” I rejoiced at the same time knowing that being team mates with her I have the best people on my side. She has an impeding graduation this very week and I am more than glad to enjoy that party, considering she loves eating, specifically hot Hawaiian pizza. She enjoys reading romantic novels and loves to sleep…alone I must add.

Then comes Zack Atama. What’s to write about Zack? He loves playing with dogs. Zack enjoys coding. See…I told you we are crazy about tech. He enjoys music just not your regular music. He prefers Electronic dance music. Yes, I must admit I do not know what that is but I sure will try it with him sometime.

Then comes Ahmed Kyakulumbye. A practicing Muslim Ahmed is easy to strike a conversation with in a snap. He is also very open to helping out in case of a blocker just to see you better yourself. Apart from knowing that he too like Aldo is a ardent Liverpool fan, nothing more is known about his interests. Note even when I ganged up with Harriet to get him to tell us more, our efforts were to no avail.

That is my team. Surely there is more to them than I have written or could ever write but they are simple, easy, friendly and most importantly eager to help. Our passion for tech and software development has led us together, think of how far we can reach. Not even the sky is the limit for us.
